First Advisory Board Meeting of the Entrepreneurship Development Cell

Conference Room of the Placement & Training Dept. at 10.00 A.M. on 14.07.2007

Advisory Board Members includes representatives from NABARD, SIDBI, IDBI, NEN, ASCENT, IIMB, District Industries Centre, BITES, Dexler Information Systems, HOD’s, President, RSST and Principal, RVCE

Advisory Board members met and sorted out plan for conduction of activities for the year 2007-08. Discussions had on the area included funding support, networking, venture support, involvement of alumni, results and performance metrics, business plan competition, collaboration with industries, time management and involvement of faculty and action plan for the year 2007-08

Entrepreneurship Appreciation Programme

Placement Seminar Hall, 10.8.2007 from 10.00 AM to 1.30 PM

Three faculty members from each department were invited, 32 faculty members from different departments participated in the programme

Faculty members were given rough idea about their role in promoting entrepreneurship among students, formal invitation was given to the 2 day faculty orientation workshop to be conducted at The School of Ancient Wisdom, Devanahalli

Inauguration of Entrepreneurship Development Cell

5.9.2007 at RVCE Campus

Dr.Rajkumar Khatri, IAS, Director of Industries & Commerce had presented a talk

A video was also presented by DIC on the latest development in the area of industries & commerce in Karnataka and opportunities for the budding entrepreneurs

Faculty Orientation Workshop 7 & 8 September 2007 (Residential)

The Ancient School of Wisdom, Devanhalli, 7 and 8 September 2007

Two faculty from each department, 24 faculty members from different departments participated in the workshop

Topics covered included : Concept of Entrepreneurship, Current day metaphor of entrepreneurship, The entrepreneurial person in you, Entrepreneurial traits, Role of Facilitator, Mentor, Coach, Teacher

Inter Church Service Association, Chennai (3-14 September 2007)

A talk on “Entrepreneurial Thinking” by Mr.Amar Sinha, Managing Director, Matrix Tooling System, New Delhi

High Tech Seminar Hall, RVCE at 10.30 am, 22nd September 2007

An open invitation for all the students to attend the programme and in particular IEM

A technical talk was given by Mr.Amar Sinha giving the requirements to become an entrepreneur and needed qualities

Motivational Lecture on Entrepreneurship” – Mr.Rangaprasad, Deputy Director, MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprises), Government of India

24th September 2007, MCA Seminar Hall, RVCE 2.30 pm

130 students from different semesters of MCA branch participated in the programme

He gave a talk on the issues of funding mechanisms by Government agencies, making and assessment of a Business Plan, Leadership qualities required for an entrepreneur. He also motivated students to consider Entrepreneurship as a career option. The session ended with Question and Answer session by the speaker.

Technical talk on “Creativity and Innovation” by Mr.Kalyan Banerjee, Mind Tree Consulting Private Limited, Bangalore

29th September 2007, Placement Seminar Hall, RVCE @ 2.30 pm

30 staff members from different departments of RVCE participated in the workshop

The technical talk on Creativity which leads to innovation, was given by Mr.Kalyan Banerjee, Mind Tree Consulting as part of the activities of the ED Cell. The talk was more focussed on innovation techniques which comes from creativity.

Guest Lecture on “Motivation Lecture on Entrepreneurship” by Mr.Babu Atur, CEO, M/s Vitri Solutions Private Limited, Bangalore

12th October 2007, Room No.301, ISE Department, RVCE @ 12.30 noon

Around 100 students from 3rd year and final year of Information Science and Engg. Department participated in the talk

The talk was more focused on how to create / develop qualities required for becoming an entrepreneur. The talk also laid emphasis on Marketing Strategy / Trends for the new entrepreneur.

Lecture on Entrepreneurship” by Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), Ahmedabad

25th October 2007, Placement Seminar Hall, RVCE @ 11.00 AM

Around 25 staff members and 50 students from Chemical Engineering had participated in the talk

The talk was basically on offerings of CIIE for the Entrepreneurs. This lecture imparted motivation for the fresh starters in the area of Entrepreneurship

Students from Mechanical Engineering Department participated in the Workshop

The talk was given by Dr.K.R.Sreenivas basically on the recent developments in the aerodynamic industry. The talk was also more focused on development of entrepreneurship among students.

Students from Telecommunication Department participated in the talk

A talk gave light on recent trends on entrepreneurship and methods to achieve success in the area of entrepreneurship

Web Design Competition was organized for various departments inviting students to develop design ideas

Students actively participated and entries were received from departments. Finally IEM Department students Website found to have more inputs and good design
